In 2018 by June we had been to ED with our 2-year-old three times for croup. She got into a state, that despite all my medical training I knew she wasn’t safe at home and needed medical attention. But I didn’t want to live this life until she was 5 or even 8 years old.

I had a few Doterra oils at the time and knew that they were special. I suspected that the answer lay in expanding my oils collection. And I was right. I did a bit of digging and reading to see what would be the recommended oils to use and I decided to invest in a kit. The kit I went for contained 10 oils that would cover most of the issues in my family home and a diffuser. This has proved to be one of the best decisions I have ever made.

In that kit I gained empowerment as a mum for when my kids are poorly, oils to help support restful sleep, digestion, mood and so much more. And of course the respiratory system, where my daughter needed support. ‘Air’ oil is a blend of peppermint, eucalyptus, laurel leaf, melaleuca, , lemon, cardamom, ravintsara and ravensara essential oils made for us by Doterra. For our daughter we used air and lavender oils in her diffuser at night. The difference was amazing. She slept! (instead of waking up coughing and panicking) Additionally I rubbed very dilute ‘air’ on her feet and chest. Now we are not scared when she starts with that barking cough. We know we have the tools to deal with it  and as a result instead of our three-monthly frequent flyer pass to our local ED, we have only been once in 18 months.

I’m so grateful for the empowering I feel as a mum to help support my kids with these oils. I know they are pure, powerful and that they work. Safety is so important. I have been satisfied that not only these oils are safe to use with your children (following guidelines of course), that they work and so now I tell every Mum I know as I want her to also have the tools to be able to do the same.

Do I still use conventional medicine? Of course! And I respect the need for medical treatment where necessary but I have realised little things I maybe would have gone and got a prescription for in the past, I now have the answers for right at my fingertips in the form of my oils. And they work. If we all did this I reckon the NHS would be super happy with us!

  1. This is genuinely one of the best ways I can think of to save the NHS.
Of we all took care of what we can at home, with natural products, and only turned to drugs when absolutely necessary, I’m sure their funding would go a lot further!!
